“The Laughing Rocks of Eternal Peace”, one of the top 20 scenic spots in Xiamen, is composed of four natural boulders. Two of the boulders are overlapped, with one end being attached, and the other end being detached, while the other two boulders stand erect and form a gate, naturally presenting the look of “a laughing mouth”. The boulder on the right side of gate is engraved with the words “Laughing Rocks”, which are vigorous and powerful, and really a superb calligraphy. The rocks are located within boundaries of the Eternal Peace Rock, hence the name. On the back of the gate are two lines from a seven-character octave which reads: “The rocks smile to welcome visitors, and the mountain hosts guests readily”.
